Owen Sweeney, the "photographer" but really the crook, the thief and the scammer!

Heres what the scumbag looks like!

There's lots of bad reviews online about this guy, DO NOT use his photography service for your wedding or event!

Owen Sweeney scammed me!!!

I thought it odd that the first book hadn't arrived, as i said in my post below, Ive sent hundreds of items, most via international mail and the one that i send that has to travel only 131 miles doesn't arrive ? Then obviously its suspicious.

I kept an eye out on ebay, specifically on Owen Sweeneys ebay sales, nothing out of the ordinary so i kinda let things go and thought nothing else of it.

For some unknown reason, just last week i thought id have a look at Mr Sweeneys ebay sales again, a couple of months had passed and i clicked to look on his past completed sale.

I wasn't surprised to see that he had sold the book on the 23rd April that i had mailed him, however i was VERY surprised to see he had sold a second one on that had sold a week later on the 30th May! How could this be ?

First listing below, ended the 23rd April and sold for $44.99:
Feedback was left by the buyer of the above on the 30th April

And feedback was in return left by Owen Sweeney AKA aplemacapplemac on the same day several hours later.

He had however as i said, listed a second auction for another book but it didn't appear to sell and ended on the 30th May without a buyer.:

One thing i didnt mention in the forst post is that the 1st and the replacement ooks i sent to Mr Sweeney were slightly different. The first had a matt card cover, the cover had not been gloss coated when it was produced. The replacement however had had the gloass coating when it was produced and you can see the difference here between the two.

First book with matt cover below:

Replacement book with gloss cover below:

You can also tell these are two different books by the ring bounding at the top left hand corner, one of them is as it should be with the holes in the cover but the replacement one has the holes punched slightly out of the cover!

Close ups of ring binding below:

I've sent a couple of polite messages to Owen Sweeney asking for an explanation and of course as expected have received no reply or explanation. Had he replied or even apologized, this blog would not be here!

Background

So while you might think this blog is a bit extreme for what happened, it maybe, but I came across this story on several  ebay forums and 3 or 4 scammer message boards and thought i would make a blog out of it for the guy! i messaged him to get more details and get approval to "type for him" and he was fine with it, said "the more people see this story the better, i don't want other people to get ripped off by this guy! Its not the money its the principle, the fact that Owen Sweeney knew what he was doing and planned this to work the way it did."

I sold a book on ebay. Ive sold several of these, they are a unique item and no one else can buy or has these to sell. I sell these from the UK and postage is normally via standard Airmail and out of several hundred items i've sold around the world i havent had a single item go missing, not once.

Owen Sweeney  (ebay ID: applemacapplemac) purchased the book through ebay on the 24th February, paid for it on the 25th February and the item was mailed to him via USPS on the 27th February. I was in the USA on vacation and had brought 3 copies with me intending to mail them from within the US to buyers who won the auctions while i was here.

The first i knew he hadn't received his book was on the 14th March  when he started a paypal claim for non receipt of an item, no email to us , no message to us, just started a paypal claim straight up which puts a hold on the funds. I replied through ebay and my reply and subsequent messages back and forth can be seen in the screen shots from my ebay messages page below:

Owen Sweeney lives in Wilmington, Delaware, only 131 miles from where the package was mailed from!
The very same day i went out and mailed another copy to Mr Sweeney via a USPS tracked service

The book was tracked online and due to arrive on the 16th March, on the 18th i sent the message below:

As you can se above, he had received his replacement book and as far as i was concerned case was closed so i sent the following.

Now fast forward a few weeks and read the newer blog entry above!
